Unleash Your Inner Leader: The Puzzle of Leadership... Are You Sharing Your Piece?
For far too long, we've believed that leadership is a title that is bestowed upon us. A role we hold. Something we DO after the votes are counted, the contract is signed, & we are officially anointed as "the boss." But is that really what leadership is?
This session will reframe leadership to demonstrate that it is not a role to be filled by one person, but by EVERYONE on a team. Instead of thinking of teams as sitting at a long table with one leader at the head of it, what if the table was round & everyone's seat mattered equally? What if leadership is a puzzle and "the boss" only has one piece? What then?!
This session will use a mix of stories, real life examples, & interactive engagement strategies to help you not only re-frame leadership in general...but YOUR leadership.
Participants in this session will:

Myth Busters: The Customer is Always Right & Other Business Principles You Are Better Off Unlearning

We've heard them a million times. Basic principles that are said so often, we don't even question them any more. But what if they're wrong? What if the current best thinking has changed and the customer ISN'T always right? What if seeing ISN'T believing & instead you can create what you see by changing what you believe? These and other myths will be busted wide open during this interactive session that introduces new perspectives on old business thinking with a mix of stories, videos, pictures, & activities. Time drags in a two hour session the last day of a conference, right? Maybe in the old way of thinking...but not this one! Come join us to find out why!
Participants in this session will:
Participants in this session will:

What’s Your Story? Why Knowing the WHAT of Your Data Is No Longer Enough
In today’s world of google, wikis, & online libraries, getting data is no longer the challenge it used to be. In fact, we are on data OVERLOAD!! Most people have so much data coming at them, they can’t figure out where to focus first. So in a sea of information, which data stands out? How do you get people to understand that YOUR data is different? That it may be the key to their success (because them believing that could be the key to yours).
The data that gets the most attention is the data that tells a compelling story. It doesn’t just tell people WHAT they need to know...but WHY they need to know it. It paints a picture. One that the audience can see themselves in. And not only that...one they WANT to be in and contribute to moving forward!! This session will focus on helping attendees with the following:
|
NOTE: Attendees will maximize benefit by bringing some data with them to this session that they would like to more effectively present. One or more attendees or groups get the opportunity to apply what is taught in the session by presenting their data as a story and getting feedback on how to tweak it to make it EVEN BETTER when they go back to the “real world!!”

Thriving Through Transition: Shifting Perspectives to See Change as a PLUS!

Does the thought of change make you bristle and think:
“I don’t want to have to deal with this…I’m comfortable and happy with the way things ARE!”
Well you’re not alone! According to a 2007 Harvard Business Review article, 70% of organizational change efforts fail. Why do so many organizational change efforts fail when individual change efforts happen every day (getting married, having a baby, moving, changing careers)? It’s not because people are resistant to change. It’s because people are resistant to being changed. Are you resisting change because YOU weren’t the source of the idea? What if the idea is a good one…are you willing to stop resisting and get on board?
Coach, facilitator & trainer Leslie Riley knows a thing or two about change (in more ways than one!). She started The Penny Project as an experiment; watched it become a fundraising program; and along the way learned life lessons on happiness, leadership, and yes, you guessed it…dealing with transition!
During this workshop she will share with you stories about change (and ¢hange) as well as tips for thriving during transition by shifting your perspective to see it as a PLUS.
Session attendees will also:
If changing your schedule to accommodate this workshop is so painful you can barely think about it, you’re just the person this gathering was created for! Join us and learn to love the change!
